Yum New Shop

The new Baking Bond Shresht Sweets and Savories Shop

--

Me, grinning like an idiot who’s never seen food, in the shop. The owner took this picture for me.

I live in the suburbs, and am delighted to see a brand new snack shop practically next door to my home. I took a few pictures to share with you.

Gift hampers of cookies, chocolates and cakes. I find it so appropriate that the fruit juice is sold next to “Sin”Food hampers like these!

This shop combines sales of western snacks like breads, cakes and cookies; Indian savory snacks like crisp fried moong dal and dalmoth; and the entire gamut of Indian sweets from cashew milk sweets(Kaju katli) and the spongy rasgullas all happily rubbing shoulders with their siblings to the motichoor laddus snootily sitting alone in their own little paper tutus.

Ordinarily, each of these would merit their own shop, but this place is lavish! It combines them all.

I loved the cookie display.
Behind me is the sweet display.

The shop interiors are “taste”fully decorated. I know, that is a truly awful pun.

This is the cake display.
The sit-down tables for snacks and sweets.

There are a few tables at the far end of the shop where the owner plans to sell sit-down snacks like raj-kachaudi and gol-gappa.

After COVID, the mere idea of someone (maybe me?) sitting down at a table like that within walking distance of my home makes me very happy!
