Take clear teeth pictures and send them before your first appointment with the dentist.
Hi, this is a dentist trying to work during Covid 19 with the new guidelines.
We’ve got a pretty daunting protocol in the clinic but guess at which step where we have the longest delay.
The part where, before the patient meets us, they have to send us a picture of their tooth. Mind you, we don’t charge to receive or see a picture or receive a phone call or respond to one.
Here are some examples of good pictures.
Like that lovely one above.
Exactly like I told her.
Use a spoon to retract the cheek and then take the picture.
Or here: you can literally see till the lower last molar, which is where the problem is.
Some people send good- not great, but still good pictures, informative pictures, even of the upper jaw. Like here
Problems occur when:
1. The patients take about 4 hours to two days to take such pictures.
2. Some pictures are more face or cheek and less tooth. So, not useful.
If your dentist has asked for a photo, please
Send it quickly Dentists receive lots of calls, there are lots of names to remember. Before you get into the dentist’s memory dump, go from phone call to WhatsApp picture. Get the questionnaire, get the appointment.
Make the picture clear. As clear as possible. This is the picture the dentist is using to try and fix your tooth during his/her very first meeting with you. If you send an awful picture, the dentist will give up and call you back later. This increases all kinds of paperwork during the COVID19 contact traceability requirements for dental clinics.
Dentists are trying to restrict the exposure of the members of the patient pool to each other. Help them.
Take a great picture and send it soon as you hang up with the dentist.
