She Got an Admit to Carnegie Mellon University Heinz College!
For Their MSISPM Program This Fall
A little over a year ago, I sat at home, anxiously watching my daughter take her at-home GRE test — a high-stakes exam that would decide her future. I even wrote a Medium article about it back then, because at that moment, everything felt so intense. Would she score well? Would she get into a good university? Would all her hard work pay off?
Now, half a year later, I finally have the answer: She got into Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College for their MSISPM program!
The Long, Exhausting, and Emotional Road to College Admissions
When we started this journey, we knew it would be hard. But I don’t think I fully realized just how much writing it would involve.
It wasn’t just about filling out forms and hitting “submit.” We wrote countless essays — Statements of Purpose, personal statements, and even responses to the most philosophical of questions. Notre Dame, for example, asked, “How will you be a force for good?” I remember staring at that prompt and thinking, Well, that’s a big question to answer in 500 words.
Then there were the Letters of Recommendation — coordinating with professors and mentors, making sure everything was submitted on time. Every application felt like a carefully crafted argument: Here’s why you should admit her. Here’s why she deserves this chance.
