Mango and Jackfruit Pickling Season Begins

India’s summer is almost here…get the AC serviced, pickle fruits and get those stoles ready to cover your head when you get out in the punishing sun

The temperatures were at a maximum of 100 and a low of 80 yesterday. By May, they will be at a max of 115 degrees Fahrenheit and getting out of the house in the afternoon will be daunting.

Also, by then, all the mangoes would have ripened and we won’t have any for yummy mustard-fennel-mango-jackfruit pickle!

Sunday’s busy with pickles and a lot of laundry, so I’ll get back to it even as my mum-in-law stirs her famous sweet mango chutney.

Have a happy Sunday!
