Jail Chips, Mesh Chips

What would you call these chips?

Or Jali, which is Hindi for “mesh.”

Which name is better, Jail or Jali(Mesh) for these chips which fluff up when you deep-fry them?

Back in the eighties, my brother and I have discussed this question: Jail or Jali? as seriously as adults discuss politics! Eating them today, I thought I would share pictures and the story with you.
