India celebrates Chhat Puja, a festival that celebrates the rising and setting sun…and all the fruits and vegetables that grow because of it. As a result, the markets overflow with “every vegetable and fruit under the sun ”— or at least those that grow in this area.

The canopy for the prayers is made with sugarcane sticks. Today is the day the sugarcane is purchased and taken home.

My question is — how ever is he going to ride home with those sugarcane sticks on his shoulder?!
